JOHN CALE RETURNS TO CARDIFF IN OCTOBER

25/04/2012

Welsh born musical legend John Cale will return to the land of his father’s this October in support of his untitled new album, due out this autumn on Domino Records.

Orchard Entertainment brings the Velvet Underground founder, solo artist, producer and composer, who will perform with his band, to The Coal Exchange, Cardiff Bay, on Sunday 7th of October 2012.

Cale last performed in the Welsh Capital (coincidentally at the same venue), when he appeared as a special guest at the Soundtrack International Film and Music Festival in 2009. That Sold Out show saw him playing his most celebrated solo album ‘Paris 1919’ in its entirety, for the first time ever, backed by his band and a 20 strong orchestra.

Having signed with the indie last year, Domino Records recently released a limited edition remix 12″, pressed on white vinyl with packaging designed by Satomi. Three tracks from Cale’s recent Extra Playful EP were remixed by Maria Minerva, Actress and Alva Noto, for the special release that coincided with Record Store Day 2012. His new full length, due this autumn, is amongst the most anticipated albums of the year.

Tickets go on sale for his show at The Coal Exchange from 9am on Friday 27th of April.
