Soul Legends Come to Cardiff

P4 Music are pleased to announce that tickets for Al Green and Michael McDonald's 2010 Cardiff Show will go on sale Friday 26th March. 

Legendary soul singer Al Green has sold more than 20 million records, won 11 Grammies, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, is in Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Artists of all Time, and was described by Justin Timberlake as the man who "was born to make us smile" - and he travels to Wales in the summer for a one night performance at the Cardiff International Arena on June 22.

In the mid 70s, he became Reverend Al, as the ordained pastor of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Memphis, and won numerous Grammies for his gospel singing, before returning to R&B and exploring other musical genres, collaborating with the likes of Queen Latifah, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Al himself claims his L-O-V-E music and extraordinary voice are responsible for more than four million babies worldwide!

And the Cardiff date is not content with one musical legend, but has another on the bill with five-time Grammy award winning blue-eyed soul man Michael McDonald. Michael created the hits "I Keep Forgettin", the Grammy-winning "Yah Mo B There", and the Number One pop single "On My Own".

McDonald played with Steely Dan before joining The Doobie Brothers, where his voice became the group's focal point on such songs as "Takin' It to the Streets", "Minute by Minute", and, unforgettably, the Number One single "What a Fool Believes", which won the 1980 Song of the Year Grammy.
