ONLY MEN ALOUD PLAY EXCLUSIVE UK TOUR WARMUP IN SWANSEA
13th February, 2009
Only Men Aloud's fresh, dynamic approach to the traditional Welsh male choirs has landed them a major record deal with global giants Universal Music, the first of which was released at the end of last year. The boys played two sell-out concerts at the Wales Millennium Centre in December, and they will be crossing the UK with sell-out dates this Spring, playing everywhere from the Theatre Royal in London, to Birmingham's Symphony Hall, to the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.
Growing up in the South Wales valleys, Tim Rhys-Evans's childhood was filled with the music. So it seemed entirely natural that one day his passion became a career through the creation of Only Men Aloud. Tim was instrumental in creating the 20 strong Only Men Aloud in 2000, with a focus on youth, a broad repertoire that takes in anything from sacred music to musical theatre, and a little choreography to get things moving.
In their short career, Only Men Aloud have already worked with big names including Aled Jones, Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfel, Michael Ball and Karl Jenkins, and were the first live act to perform in the Wales Millennium Centre, at a dinner for Shirley Bassey.
