Jesse Malin announced for Cardiff

6th May, 2010

Singer/songwriter Jesse Malin was the face of the glam/hard rock band D Generation for eight years, following the dissolution of Heart Attack, the hardcore punk act he fronted as a teenager in the '80s. As one of New York City's more talented acts of the 1990s, the band released three albums before disbanding in April 1999.

Malin, who's a punk with a soft heart, didn't stop writing music. His love for Neil Young, Tom Waits, and Steve Earle affected his work; he spent the next two years working on a fresh, countrified sound. With longtime friend Ryan Adams taking control of the faders, the two set out to record Malin's debut album, the well received ‘The Fine Art of Self Destruction', released through One Little Indian in the UK in October 2002.

Five albums, much touring and collaborations with Bruce Springsteen and Jakob Dylan later, Jesse Malin returns to the UK in support of his new album 'Love It To Life', which was released in April this year.

Jesse Marlin plays Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach on Tuesday the 6th of July, with tickets priced at £10 ADV (+SBF).
