Africa Express Triumphs

07/09/2012

Orchard brought the much heralded Africa Express to Cardiff this week. Some of the biggest names in African music joined Blur front man and multi-dimensional artist Damon Albarn and Super Frurries’ Gruff Rhys on stage at Cardiff University as part of the joyful Africa Express artistic journey around the UK as part of the London 2012 Festival.

In addition to the gig, the artists also appeared in a number of pop-up shows around the city, including a performance at Spillers Records.

Orchard’s Greg Barton said: “Africa Express are making a big noise around the UK, so we’re fortunate to get them here to Cardiff. It was a great show, and they’ve caused a bit of a stir in the city.”
